In this day and age information is spread so quickly through many mediums that even the regular person can know something as soon as it happens. The steroid issue in baseball is just another example of how quick information spreads.
I always hear, from the older people, that this player or that player would dominate if he played right now and he/she played that game fair. Are they sure of that? Steroids have been around for a very long time just in different forms. How do we know that Hank Aaron wasn't on steroids during his career? I am sure the testing then was not there or was very minor.
Information back then was not as quick to surface as it is now because there were only a few mediums it could be released on. There was no internet, no satellites linking in space transferring information back and forth all over the world. Barry Bonds is alledgely linked to steroids and it is on ESPN and every internet site and every news station in a matter of minutes. That is the difference.
We will never know about the past but we definitely know about today.
I am totally against steroid use. Do I think it gives a player and advantage? I would say yes but I seriously doubt it has a great advantage. I think that steroids should be eliminated from sports for the players safety and the preservation of the game.

I am not denying the fact the he is on steroids. I believe that he is and so are a lot of other baseball players. I'm just saying we can't penalize him because we do not know what happened in the past due to lack of information available.
Nice page! I agree with the media blitz today vs the 70's and 80's. And I am certain the usage of some sort of enhancer was used by the players back in the day. As we see every day it is all about the money, jersey sales, promotions and unless you put yourself a step up on everyone else they your photo and name is not on every page or website in this country. It does bother me today to see young kids wearing jersey's of people who are accused or convicted of different allegations. In changing sujects slightly, you look at drug use vs gambling. Lawrence Taylor tho a great football player who was convicted and did some sort of time but yet still sits in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. You see Darryl Strawberry, one of the finest arms ever years ago, who today is still struggling to stay clean and is yet when he gets in trouble is offered MLB jobs etc. If Lawrence Taylor can make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, why is Pete Rose not in cooperstown? Different commissioners? Michael Jordan knew he was going to get suspeneded by the NBA on his sports betting and stepped down and joined the white sox, he knew how long the suspension would last and that is exactly how long he stayed in baseball. Do we have different unions for different sports? I do not see any equality for punishment with any of them. I love baseball, and if I lived in a city with a franchise, I would attend regularly, i think it is just the new day and things are just ignored because its the 21st century and it is happening at all levels of life, not just sports. Anyway that is my two cents if it makes any sense. How about the bowl games...any early surprises? Would UCLA destroyed BYU with a 1st or 2nd string QB? Anyway the Mountain West is 2-0 with New Mexico and Air Force left with bowls. Any one else think the BCS national championsip game has the wrong teams? How about some LSU t-shirts on your page?
